Summer Savour: Rosé Granita

Summer Savour: Rosé Granita

Pop the cork, Pour, Sip, Savour.

Sounds familiar? Yep, pretty routine. With the summer winding down but the lingering heat still upon us and no shortage of great wines out there to Savour, why not try something a bit new? The wine Savouring continues but in a slightly different format.

You may have seen by now my Rosé Granita (and other) recipes on Instagram… if you haven’t, go follow @SavourExperience don’t miss all the Savour Experiences!

  • 250ML Rosé
  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 100ML Water
  • 1/3 cup of Blackberries

Method:

  1. Put blackberries in a freezer safe container (I used a pyrex dish) and crush them.
  2. Add Rosé, water and sugar.
  3. Stir till sugar is dissolved.
  4. Put container in freezer.
  5. In 1 hour, scrape the mixture to break it up. Put it back in the freezer.
  6. When fully frozen, serve and Savour!

I chose the Santa Christina Cipresseto for this recipe because it’s a fruit forward Rosé without too much residual sugar. If you prefer a sweeter granita, add an additional tablespoon of granulated sugar in the mix.

This recipe is too good and too easy to not share; so please take it and make it your own!

Keep an eye on this space and on the Instagram page for the next Rosé recipe: Pancetta Risotto – yes you read correctly!
